Morris Holt

Vicksburg - Morris Lee Holt, 72, of Vicksburg, Mississippi formerly of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2015, at UMC in Jackson, Mississippi. Mr. Morris was born on July 12, 1942 in Bay, Arkansas to the late Floyd and Ruby Harrison Holt. He attended Jonesboro Schools and later moved to Memphis where he installed central heat and air for government projects. After several years he began travelling across the country installing satellite communication towers as he enjoyed the scenery. After retiring to Vicksburg, he became known as a jack-of-all-trades guy and his skills were in demand until his death. Survivors include; his children: Dewayne Allen Holt of Atoka, Tennessee, Robbie Holt of Bay, Arkansas, Angela Dixon of Bay, Arkansas, April Cooley and husband Tommy of Bay, Arkansas, Brant Holt of Memphis, TN, and Ashlee Holt Workman of Memphis, TN; three sisters: Grace McCann of Vicksburg, MS, Clara Cole of Jonesboro, AR and Ethel Craig of Rockford, IL; ten grandchildren: Caleb Holt, Brittany Parsons, Justin Holt, Damien Holt, Jessica Cooley, Levi Workman, Jett Workman, Beaux Holt, Avery Holt and Kaitlyn Dixon; two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 2731 Paula Drive, Jonesboro, Arkansas with Rev. Kurt Neeley and Mr. Scott McCann officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors on Friday at the church from 11 a.m. until service time.
